Fitting Instructions
1. This door is of a hollow or semi hollow core construction and is for use in internal situations only. It should not be used in fire resisting applications.
2. Prior to hanging doors should be stored flat in a dry, well ventilated room in conditions as near as possible to those that they will experience in normal use. Doors should not be fitted where extremes of temperature or humidity may occur, for example in a new building where heaters may be used to dry out rooms, or where heating systems are being tested. Doors should be left ajar to allow heat to equalise on both sides of the door. Timber is a natural product that reacts to rapid changes in humidity, so the door should be finished as quickly as possible. In new build situations the doors should be fitted only when the property is ready for final decoration.
3. All sanded and planed surfaces should be primed prior to hanging the door. Doors may be trimmed by planing or sanding to a maximum of 6mm from the bottom and 4mm from each long edge. Tops of the doors are not recommended to be trimmed.
4. Internal doors should be hung on one pair of 3" (76mm) hinges. Fit 3 hinges to doors where large differences of temperature or humidity may occur.
5. This door has been fitted with two lock blocks. This allows you to fit the door so that you can position the image printed on one side facing into OR out of the room. Each lock block is a reinforced area approximately 12 1/2" (320mm) high and 80mm wide, from the top of the bottom panel. If a lock is required it should be fitted in one of the lock blocks provided. 6. The side of the door with a special printed image can be kept clean by using a soft, non-abrasive cloth and a mild cleaning detergent.
